Stockholm is the capital of Sweden, and its largest city. Our conference venue, Djurönäset, is nestled in the middle of the Stockholm archipelago, about an hour outside of Stockholm. There are a variety of ways to reach Djurönäset from the Arlanda International Airport or Stockholm C (Stockholm's central transportation hub). We list a few options below with 'estimated' costs. Costs may vary.
Getting to Stockholm
The Arlanda International Airport in Stockholm will be the easiest airport to fly into, if you are coming from overseas.
Getting to Djurönäset
Participants arriving Sunday are responsible for their own transportation to the venue (there will be no bus service on Sunday). Please see below for travel options you can arrange on your own.
By Conference Bus:
The easiest and cheapest way to get to the conference venue will be to take advantage of our conference bus. Please make sure you sign up for this and pay upon registration. Buses service will be offered Monday mid-morning (between 930 and 1130) and Thursday after the conference (at 1630). The bus will cost 200 SEK each way and will pick up and drop off at both Stockholm C and Arlanda. It will take *approximatey* 1.5 hours to get from the conference venue to Arlanda. Please plan plenty of time to make your flight or connecting transportation.
Monday pick up times at Arlanda Airport = 9:30 / 10:00 / 10:30 / 11:00 / 11:30
Monday pick up times at Stockholm C = ~10:00 / 10:30 / 11:00 / 11:30 / 12:00 (the bus will make a stop here on its way to the venue, so pick up times may vary depending on traffic)
Thursday at the venue = 1630 (please be prepared to leave on time - the buses will stop at Stockholm C first and then head to Arlanda Airport)
Look for Wolves Across Borders to Djurönäset on the screens are the airport and the bus terminal for directions to pick up location!
Pick up will likely be at Terminal 4 at Arlanda - check back here for confirmation!
NOTE - The bus MUST BE PAID FOR UPON REGISTRATION, otherwise your reservation will not be confirmed! You DO NOT NEED A TICKET. If you have registered and paid we will have your name on a list.
By Public Transportation:
Public buses run about every 30 minutes from the Slussen Transit Station in downtown Stockholm to Djurönäset (Värmdö) for about 40 SEK one-way. On SUNDAYS the bus runs every hour. The ride takes about 50 minutes and will drop you off at a bus stop on the road next to the venue. From Slussen, get on bus 433 or 434. Please see www.sl.se for bus schedules. Make sure you go to the Slussen Transit Station and not the Slussen stop in Gamla Stan (see the map below). You can purchase your ticket directly on the bus.
To get to the Slussen Transit Station from Arlanda you may take the Arlanda Express (300 SEK) or any number of airport buses (e.g., Flygbussarna at ~120 SEK) into Stockholm C. From there it is a 20 minute walk to the Slussen Transit Station, or you can take a taxi for ~250 SEK
By Taxi:
Taxis are available outside all Arlanda Airport terminals and throughout Stockholm. The drive from Arlanda takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes, depending on traffic. The price for a taxi will vary, but will likely cost upwards of 1300 SEK (not too bad if the cost is split with others). If you wish to book a taxi in advance for your ride back to the airport or Stockholm, please contact the front desk at Djurönäset and they will arrange this for you (+46 8 571 490 00).
